Between now and the last time I looked, MSNBC changed their translation
to match the N.Y. Times one. :) I'm not too surprised... when I looked
before, the MSNBC translation was terse and choppy, and the Times'
translation was eloquent (at least relative to the other). I figured
this reflected the skills of the different translators. I would guess
that bin Laden's message was eloquent in his native tongue, so I'm glad
to see the inferior translation pushed aside -- especially for the sake
of the people who can't distinguish a translation from an original, who
might read a poor translation and make irrational judgements about the
speaker.
(Yes, I do tend to agree with the Founding Fathers' opinions on the
ignorance of the populace.)
