“Big Decisions”

Enclosures: None.

Many of the big decisions I've made in my life, if not all of them, have been ridiculously easy to make. Getting baptized, moving to Rhode Island (from New Hampshire), asking Corinne (see the chapter, in my as-yet-unwritten autobiography, entitled The Great Love of My Life) to marry me, where to work, who to hire at Macrobyte.. all of these things were obvious and easy and have always seemed "right".

Unfortunately, the level of ease with which those decisions were made doesn't compare with the level of difficulty I'm currently facing with regards to the next "big decision".

In this case, the "obvious answer" runs totally contrary to what I want, and is almost sure to make me miserable. Unfortunately, the more difficult option is already making me miserable but has the promise of providing a huge amount of satisfaction.

On top of that, I'm not making decisions for just myself. My decision affects my family, and to a lesser extent it will also affect my extended family and friends.

This sucks.

Ouch! Sounds like you have a real show-stopper there. All I can do is wish you luck.
