Meeting John VanDyk for the first time, yesterday, was great! John's a little guy, only about 6' 7" tall, but other than having to avoid talking about that particular white elephant we had a great 3+ hour conversation. (He showed up at about 10:30, and left right after lunch... I suppose that was about two o'clock.)
Let's see... We talked about chickens, minks, cats, parrots, wives, Greg's powerbook at the WWDC, the MetaData plugin, Conversant, Manila, Zope, Jon, DW, Macrobyte, Brian, servers, response times, kids, and the future. Oh, and squid.
That last one's funny... John wrote up his own silly/sarcastic review of seeing the main Macrobyte Resources campus, and he said that I never mentioned squid. But squid really did come up in the conversation before lunch!
I'm sure that when he wrote that, he was still disoriented by all the memory-cleansing drugs we gave him as he left. Oh, and from meeting my dizzyingly-beautiful, eye-rolling bride.
