Corinne and I were "hosting" mid-week Bible class tonight. That means she goes out and buys a bunch of ingredients, and I carry them into the house. Then she spends many hours on Tuesday and Wednesday preparing lots of food, and then I pack it into the car. Then we drive to the hall, and I carry it in, and she reheats everything and sets it up for everyone to eat after class. Afterwards, she cleans everything up and I carry what's left out to the truck.

I don't even deserve the title of host, seeing how little I did compared to her efforts, but that's not my point. Not only did she feed the entire ecclesia, but she also made dinner for Art and Sarah (coconut chicken) and the Smalls (not sure what they got).

One of John VanDyk's first observations when he came to our house a couple days ago was that our Dining Room wall has two large (almost ceiling-height) bookcases completely filled with cookbooks. This woman loves her cookbooks, just as much as she loves to cook.

Nurturing people, with food and whatever else she/we have to offer, is her special gift, and I'm very very proud of her.

You're a good girl, an amazing woman, Corinne.
