Mozilla 1.0 RC 2 was released yesterday.
I complained that they weren't ready yet when they released RC1, that Mozilla had been too unstable. Since then, most of the bugs I run into have been fixed, and now I'm quite happy: this is what a release candidate is all about.
I understand what they're going through, to some degree. Pressure from all around to release your software, feeling like there are a few more bugs you need to fix first, knowing that there will always be bugs... getting close to the release date is a very stressful time. I'm feeling it.
