Same spot? I hate that. You shouln't need a new tire, unless its torn, or worn to the point that you can see the threads of the tire casing.
Did you check to see whether you have anything (like a thorn or piece of glass) stuck in your tire casing? If the hole in the tube is at the top, run your fingers around the tire to check for debris that could be causing the flat. When I mount my tires, I line up the tire label with the innertube stem so that its easy to check for debris in the tire.
If the hole in the tube is at the bottom, however, check to make sure that the rim strip hasn't moved allowing spokes to come in contact with the tube. I prefer Velox cloth rim strips to the plastic ones.
As for me, I did a 50 mile ride Thursday afternoon. My mistake was starting my off-season lifting program Wednesday. Boy were my legs sore.
