Our refrigerator died last night, and everything in the freezer is completely defrosted. Fridges are so well insulated that you'd expect food to stay frozen (or cold, at least) for quite awhile. But, no. The thermostat doesn't realize the compressor is dead, so it turns on the fan and fails to turn on the compressor. The result is warm air being circulated through both compartments all night long.
Dad came over to bring the remains of our food back to their refrigerator, but just before he arrived Corinne suggested putting everything in coolers out on the back deck. It's only 30° out there during the day, and at least the food will be local!
Now we have to do something about a new fridge. What a day.
There are no trackbacks.
