“Still No Way to Set Attributes in XML”

After years of working with XML in Frontier and Radio, I still can't believe there's no built-in way to set element attributes.

We have xml.getAttribute() and xml.getAttributeValue(). Why are we still lacking the analogous xml.setAttribute() or xml.setAttributeValue() ? Frontier's original parser, Blox (written by my friend Brian Andresen), had a setAttribute() from the very beginning becuase Brian recognized the need. Unfortunately, Blox is no longer maintained or supported.

I'm tired of writing my own fix for this little bug every time I'm working on a new project that manipulates XML.
