How to Sponsor Me in the 2004 Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC)

Curious?

You can read my personal review of the 2004 Pan-Mass Challenge.

There are also a bunch of PMC Videos available which do more to explain why we work so hard at this event than I could ever hope to do with this web page! Please watch a couple of them if you're still not sure.

This page is out of date. Here's the current information.

Percentage of Funding, 2004I rode in the Pan-Mass Challenge (PMC) again this year.

The PMC is a 192 mile bicycle ride across Massachusetts (on August 7-8), in which each of the 4,000 riders must raise at least $2,750 in support of the Jimmy Fund, for research and treatment of cancer at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

The commitment to raising this money is quite real: Any riders who don't raise at least the minimum are automatically charged the difference on their own credit cards! Luckily, we're allowed to finish raising the money for a couple of months after the event.

The goal for the entire group of 4,000+ riders this year is $17 Million dollars. Sound crazy? It's not! Last year we raised $16 Million.

Please consider sponsoring my ride, generously. $2750 is a lot of money to raise, but I'd like to raise more: my goal for this year is $3500.

Read this essay if you'd like to know more about why I'm riding in the PMC.

What to Do:

There are two now three easy ways to send donations for sponsoring my ride:

  • New! Participate in the auction for a block of my time. You get my services and the satisfaction of helping with cancer research, I get closer to my fundraising goal for the year.

  • Make a credit-card donation via my PMC eGifts page. Any amount is accepted, and the web page only takes about 90 seconds to fill out. It's very easy!

(Please note: sometimes PMC's site seems to get a little confused, and forgets who you're trying to make the donation for. If it asks you for my "eGift ID", it is SD0086.)

Another way to the same place: go to my PMC Profile, then click on "Donations" at the top.

If you experience any problems with the online gift-giving site, please write to me directly, and tell me exactly what went wrong. (I'm not reponsible for the site, but I know who to contact.)

  • If you prefer, you could send a check via regular mail. Make it out to "PMC / Jimmy Fund" and mail it to this address:

    Mystic, CT 06355

Please with any questions about sponsoring my ride in the PMC.

Thanks!
