As September 8 approaches, I can feel myself developing an attitude. I have something to prove, to everybody around me but especially to myself. That date marks the second anniversary of my big accident. I can still feel a little bit of paranoia in me, and in my family, about the intersection I was passing through and the date I was doing it... it's totally irrational, but that's what paranoia is!

I'm planning a long ride that day, at least 40 miles, and I'm going through the Evil Intersection twice (once each way). I've been through there a few times this year, so it's really not a very big deal, but not on "that date".

It's also the day before my twenty-eighth birthday.
