Yesterday the PMC presented a check for $16.2 Million to the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, during a big ceremony held at Fenway Park near Boston. That's 95% of all the money raised this year, meaning there's just a 5% operational overhead.
This makes the PMC the most successful sport-based fund raiser in the US, and a very efficient charitable organization.
Man oh man that's a lot of money... especially when you consider that the PMC has relatively few riders compared to some of the huge walk-a-thons or bike-a-thons out there (10,000 to 50,000 people).
I'm very glad I was able to participate. Thanks again to all of my sponsors!
