The main, non-Conversant project I'm working on has required me to send regular software updates to the client. (A few times per week.)
A couple weeks ago I opted to use self-mounting disk images instead of compressed folders. The client is on a mac, and now he doesn't have to think at all about how to open the files. I don't have to worry about whether or not he'll have stuffit or know how to use the command line tools.
The easiest way to make sized-to-fit DMG files is Michael Tsai's DropDMG, which I've just registered for just $10. (My trial period was almost up.)
I don't use much shareware, but I'm running registered copies of two of Michael's applications (MacWorld-Eddy-award-winning SpamSieve is the other). What stronger endorsement could I offer?
There are no trackbacks.
