I changed my mind about the cadence meter, I decided if I'm going to have it, then I should have it on the biggest ride of my season. Rather obvious when I say it that way!
I drove the bike over while running some other errands around town, and Rick (one of the partners) had it fixed within just a few minutes. While he was working on it, I mentioned that I hate the helmet I bought with the bike, because there's way too little ventilation. Even though I bought it bak in April, he said he'd give me full credit towards any other helmet in the store. That's incredibly cool, since they actually gave me the helmet when I bought the bike! The old helmet was normally sold for $49, so he put that towards a new Giro Pneumo (which, I just discovered, was called the perfect helmet by RoadCycling.com:
"The Giro Pneumo is the perfect helmet. We recommend it wholeheartedly."
... none of which has much of anything to do with this ride, except to say that I had my cadence meter back again, a new helmet, and a new pair of utterly perfect shades for cycling. (I hate getting wind in my eyes!)
As for the ride itself: it was relatively short, but quick. I felt great, could have gone a lot longer, but I'm forcing myself to take it easy this week in prep for this weekend.
Stats: 28.83 miles (46.41 km) in 1h 25' 52" for an average speed of 20.14 mph (32.43 kph).
There are no trackbacks.
