Actually, that's likely to become more interesting in the winter when I can't spend as much time on the bike. (Though I'm still trying to decide what I want to do for alternative exercises.)

The latter is likely to be the biggest constraint for me. I'm already carrying *three* water bottles. I could drop one of those bottles and go back to using the CamelBak, and may do so, but I found that I'm not as hot without the CB as I was with it... which means I'm sweating a little less, and therefore losing less fluid. (I still sweat a lot on the bike, though, so the difference may not be enough. The CamelBak is probably the right way to go for training rides.)

I've always been very careful with my breathing patterns, using a 2-1 pattern on the flats (sometimes even a 3-1) and a 1-1 when climbing. I've been doing that for so many years that I don't even have to think about it anymore.
Note that the exercise I'm doing is extremely aerobic, also.
