In my ride report last night I mentioned that there had apparently been a propane tank explosion followed by a gas tank explosion in downtown Mystic yesterday. Wasn't sure I believed it, but that's what I'd been told.
Well, it was true. In fact, it was worse than I was told: the propane tank was on a camper, but the fire took out three cars.
Not a big news event, obviously, but I said I'd follow up this morning when I knew more. How did I find out about it? I asked Chris, the owner of Seaport Coffee Roasters. As a recently retired fire chief, I figured he'd know something about it. I was wrong, but he found in the paper he was reading when I asked...
