Mainly out of curiosity, I've put Google ads on some pages here on [tw]. It's too late for them to help with my PMC fundraising, but from what I've heard from some other adsense users I shouldn't really expect to make anything from them anyway.
The ads show in the right-hand margin of all "published pages" (anything under Articles, Shudder Bug, Fund Raising, etc.). They're also showing up at the bottom of discussion group message pages, but only when viewed by non-members (anyone who hasn't logged on).
If you really hate that I did this (ok, even though this was mainly curiosity, I feel a little funny putting ads on my personal journal), please speak up. Maybe somebody can talk me out of it. On the other hand, maybe my very most popular pages (you know, the ones about Manchurian lilacs and Japanese red maples...) will help with the exorbitant fees I have to pay Macrobyte for hosting this site. Harsh masters.
