“RE: The Little Old Man With Good Teeth and Shaky Hands: Puzzling Logic”

I recognized it as the Monty Hall problem, and knew what the correct choice was (and am therefore disqualified as well), but the reasoning behind the puzzle had always eluded me until this afternoon. I was in a focus group and worked out the probabilities by drawing little state diagrams. Fun to finally understand how it works.
