Though I haven't mentioned it here, I had a sinus infection last week and this week which eventually was bad enough to cause tinnitus in my right ear and nearly complete laryngitis. I'm pretty sure this was caused by the dregs of my last cold, and my eagerness to get back on the bike in the cold weather before I was completely recovered. I almost can't stop myself!
Still, that sinus infection did stop me, and I went a solid week without riding. I consoled myself one day by carefully washing the whole bike from stem to stern, but I didn't ride.
Well, the drugs are working nicely and the infection is being routed. Yesterday's gorgeous weather put the pressure over my threshold, and so I went out for a short, twenty mile ride. No, wait... it's too nice out. Ok, a short thirty mile ride. Do I hear thirty-one?
As expected, I put on a few pounds in the meantime, but not enough to bother me. Even when I was riding consistently my mass measurements bounced around a lot from day to day.
I've ridden almost 3600 miles this year, and I'm not done. Cool! In 2003 I rode 2245 miles (61 rides), in 2002 it was 2677 (78 rides), in 2001 it was 1762 (68 rides), and in 2000 it was 1174 (49 rides). That's as far back as my stats go.
Stats: 31.31 miles (50.40 km) in 1h 33' 30" for an average speed of 20.09 mph (32.34 kph).
There are no trackbacks.
