I don't know if that is what Seth means or not, Don, but it sure frustrated me.  The same person participates both at Unreason and at another site I frequent.  At the other site, any attempts on my part to change back to the actual topic failed miserably in favor of another round on all sides of "we've got to convince him he's wrong" as a group of people try desperately to breach one poster's fortress.

Could have yelled at my goldfish and accomplished more.

At Unreason I don't think the situation is quite that dire--posters are engaging in some cross-talk between themselves.  But it sure frustrates me..

I also hate to see someone claim a belief system to which I adhere, and then make it look bad through his illogic, bullheadedness, and name-calling. It's important to me that others know that individual is not representative of all who claim that belief.

Good grief, yes.  I run into that as an atheist all the time--it's frustrating enough not to believe in the majority belief, and then have someone who "agrees" with you but is rude, insensitive, and downright nasty.
