“Ambrosia's Story on the PMC Auction”

It's probably safe to say that all Mac developers know who Ambrosia Software is, as do most Mac users.

When I wrote to them asking if they'd donate some software to the software auction, I expected they'd say yes. They have a good reputation.

Not only did they say "yes," they gave me a total of twenty licenses (five licenses to four different products), and they wrote a long story about it for their newsletter!

Lots of software development companies and individuals (especially Mac developers, the Windows side is WAY behind) have been generous with their donations. I've linked to all of them on the donations page, and told them all privately how much I appreciate what they've done. Still, Ambrosia went all out, initially telling me that I could have "whatever I wanted." They even offered to send me Ambrosia's distinctive mouse pads and mugs to add to the auction!

This is a "trial balloon," this year. If the auctions go as well as the donations, then I'll do it again next year in a more organized fashion. Might have to talk Ambrosia out of donating their office chairs and desks, though.
