Yes, of course I'm riding in the PMC again this year!
If you've been around here for a year or more, then you already know about it. Just follow that link... you know what you need to do, and you know how much I appreciate it.
If you are new to TruerWords, then here's the story in a nutshell. The Pan-Mass Challenge is a huge fund-raising event for the Jimmy Fund. In its 26 year history, over $145 Million have been raised in support of cancer research and treatment at Dana-Farber. Last year alone, we raised $23 Million.
Raising the money is the real point. (Cancer is expensive!) However, the event itself is a bike ride across the state of Massachusetts, on August 5-6. Last year there were about 4,000 riders. This year there will be more, as they've added some routes.
In fact, me and some friends make it a three-day ride by doing an extra hundred miles on the day before. We start at the New York - Massachusetts border and ride to Sturbridge on Friday the 4th, then get up super early in the morning to ride 116 miles to Bourne, MA, with about 2500 others!
To be a part of this amazing event, every rider must commit to raising at least $3,000, but almost all of us do more.
My goal this year is $6,000. I need your help. Here's how to sponsor me in the Pan-Mass Challenge.
Oh, and I should mention that the PMC is one of the most efficient charities in the world! Last year, 99 percent of every rider-raised dollar went straight to the Jimmy Fund.
There are no trackbacks.
