It's normally a plaque with the following on it:
Christ is the head of this house,
The unseen guest at every meal,
The silent listener to every conversation.

Hi,
I've been searching the Internet about "The Unseen Guest". My dad passed away
this month, my mom is in Assisted Living. My sister and I are going through
everything in their house (have to sell it) and came across a notepad listing
what she wants my sisters and I to have. For me, she wrote "The Unseen
Guest".
. I'm thinking it has to be a painting so the message I read on this

does mention a painting. Can you tell me more, what it looks like, etc.
