I almost called this one, "Awwwwww Yeeeeaaaaahhh!"
I had to run some errands this afternoon, and stopped by Mystic Cycle to pay for that last spoke-repair. I told Rick about yesterday's ride, especially about seeing those other cyclists at the end and sticking with them until I was home.
He told me that was Mystic Velo, a training group that's "a little crazy". I'm not sure what he meant, but then he told me that they sometimes ride with "his group" on Tuesday nights, and then asked if I'd like to come along too.
Uhhh... yes.
He warned me that they ride pretty fast, for 50 miles, every Tuesday night at 5:30. I haven't ridden 50 miles in the last five years, but I couldn't pass up the chance to ride with a group, especially after an invitation.
I told him that after this Tuesday, I'll have bragging rights. He gave me this look that asked, "are you crazy?" so I explained that I'd be able to brag to my friends about being left behind by the best riders in Mystic.
I honestly don't expect to keep up with them for the whole ride, but I'll stay with them for as long as I can, and then when I've regained consciousness I'll call Corinne for a ride home. ;-)
Tuesdays at 5:30. I mustn't forget.
There are no trackbacks.
