The song that Sister Ethel Wallace sang at the beginning of the wedding ceremony is called, "The Wedding Hymn." No, that's not a very original name -- no more original than "The Wedding March," for that matter.
Here are the words:
They come before Thee open hearted,
Over flowing joy divine,
Thankful for the lives they're given,
Shaped and purposed by Thy mind.
Thankful, too, that in Thy wisdom,
They'll no longer be apart,
Stretch Thy hand in quiet kindness,
Take two wills and make one heart.
Grant them strength as they continue
Our rich heritage of life,
Passed from family unto family,
Now to them as husband, wife.
May their lives reflect Thy glory,
Orchestrate their heart with Thine,
That their seperateness be blended
Into one life, Thy design.
Stretch Thy hand in quiet kindness,
Take two wills and make one heart.
There are no trackbacks.
