Having missed the big hill rides for the last two weeks, and having done very little cycling in general, I decided today would be a sort of miniature hill ride.

I hit the big hill on Indian Town Road (Route 214? 215?) between Ledyard and Route 2 - that's arguably the second worst hill in the area, behind "insanity hill" on Route 201. Then I hit the big one that goes up out of Old Mystic. This is one of those hills that all of the local cyclist's "talk about." It's not as long as long as some of the other big hills in the area, but the first half of the climb is so steep that you feel like you're climbing a vertical face.

I've seen lots of people with manual transmissions stall their cars here, after failing to downshift.

I climbed a few other hills, but nothing of particular note.

Stats: 31.0 miles (49.91 km) in 98' 45" for an average speed of 18.83 mph (30.32 kph).
