I think that's the motto of Windows NT, at least when it's running on a machine with a damaged hard drive.
For a week, Brian Carnell's dedicated Conversant server was crashing at least once per hour. I tried everything I could think of to fix it, including a total reinstall of the operating system.
No luck. Nothing worked.
Finally, Art figured out that the problem was a defect in the drive. Aargh! So, we ordered a new one, which arrived yesterday. After reinstalling NT Server five times, I realized that we had a second problem... and I finally figured out that the NIC wasn't seated properly (it had become unseated during one of my investigations earlier that day).
One more install of NT, and all was well. Installed the Service Packs, IE 5, and Conversant... and everything is still OK.
The little beast has been running for a couple of hours now with nary a problem, so I think all is (finally) well.
