Yes! The sun is out, and it looks like a beautiful day, finally! It's been almost two full weeks!

Time to get serious about that 20-rides-in-August goal.

Physically, I just wasn't quite up to snuff today: just didn't have the energy that I thought I did when I started... but it was still an excellent ride.

Riding down Pumpkin Hill Road is such a rush! I hit 44.2 miles per hour, and it just seems to last soooooo long! Climbing that hill (Tuesday was the first time) is definitely worth the effort (which actually does take approximately forever), as it gives me the extra miles I need to meet my goal, and descending that hill is like riding a roller coaster!

At 44 mph, I was going 19 mph over the speed limit. I actually rode in the middle of the lane instead of on the shoulder, because I was (more than) keeping up with the cars in front of me (though a safe distance behind them). Nobody needed to pass me, at that speed!

I honestly wish there was some way I could videotape that part of the ride, from my perspective. Oh well, I don't have a helmet-cam, so you're out of luck.

I also got slightly lost today. Duh! Missed my turn from Gallup Hill Road onto Pumpkin Hill Road, and ended up at the High School near downtown Ledyard. I could have continued that way to get home, but it would have been further than I wanted to go... and I would have missed Pumpkin Hill!
