In case you hadn't noticed, I'm a real Sluggy Freelance fan, also known as a Sluggite. The comic is very well drawn, is very, very funny, and the story arches are really impressive (and usually months long).
While, Sluggy's third birthday just passed. In celebration of that birthday, Jonathan Leistiko created the Kiki and Bun Bun game, a variation of checkers. The game looks good, though I really haven't had a chance to play it. However, you must go and read the intro to the game right now! It's such a great explanation of the comic, and it's a near-perfect description of how I first read it, too (in a "devouring" manner).
The link came from the Sluggy Freelance home page (http://www.sluggy.com/), which always has the newest comic and also doubles as a sort of Sluggy-log.
Today's ride was spooky because it was so BAD. I simply couldn't get the speed up to where it should have been, and I didn't find out why until the last few miles of the ride.
The spoke that Mystic Cycle Center fixed earlier, was broken! The wheel was now rubbing forcefully against the brakes, which provided noticeable resistance when pedalling.
I was tempted to not cound this ride at all, but I decided that there was no point. It's not as if there's a prize for only having good rides! I made the effort, that's what counts.
Flip asked me, the last time the wheel rubbed the brakes, if I can hear it. I checked this time, and I can not. I don't know why.
Cut the ride short, as soon as I realized what the problem was. I'd already travelled about 18 miles, but I cut off approximately 7 miles of agony.
