The Mozilla project released version 0.9.7 of their browser last Friday, just as expected. Unfortunately, there was a problem with form submission: the type of forms that we use in Conversant (to allow file uploads) weren't recognized properly. When you try to submit a message form, the browser would just "sit there", apparently doing nothing, and the server would never receive the request.
This morning's "nightly build" squashed the bug, so now it's worth pointing to.
0.9.7 includes some important new features. The DOM inspector allows you (the experienced DHTML programmer) to view and edit every object in the browser, via a tree view. Form submission is noticeably faster (especially now that actually works ;-). They've expanded favicon support so that it looks for the favicon.ICO file at the root of every site if you haven't specified it in the HTML.
There's more, like S/MIME support, but most of it doesn't interest me much.
The "Open Web Location" dialog still isn't working correctly, even though they've tried to fix it more than once. However, creating a new tab from the keyboard (Command-T or Control-T) leaves the blinking cursor in the location bar (the URL) so the new URL can be typed there. That should satisfy Brian Andresen.
Mac: Installer or Full Installer
Windows: Installer or Full Installer
... or you can just download whatever is the latest build for your platform.
