Corinne and I are at (yet another) cat show this weekend. This time we're in Iselin, NJ, at a Sheraton. The facilites are very nice (the nicest I've ever seen), but the show itself is very weird. The best cats are being ignored, and second-string cats are taking most of the ribbons.
Wixie, one of the top ten Household Pets in the NorthEast region, has only earned two ribbons (a 10th and a 6th). The cat that did a little better than her last weekend has also done poorly. Ysabel -- who we were so sure would "kick furry butt" for a few months as a kitten -- has done about s well as she did last week (mediocre).
We're a little disappointed, but at least I've been able to work this weekend. One customer in particular was waiting for me to do some research on his project, and I managed to finish it up early this afternoon. I'm all caught up on my sleep for the first time in over a week, too. :-)
Hopefully the show will be better, tomorrow. Corinne's not enjoying this one very much. The Sheraton is a wonderful venue (almost luxurious), but what happens at the show is really much more important than where the show is held.
Not that any of you care about cat shows... but this is the kind of thing you have to put up with when you're reading someone else's journal!
