Yes, the subject is a blatant misquote, I admit it.
One of the couples in our ecclesia is travelling this week, so Eric and Bonny have two of their kids (as well as their own three). Corinne's helping them out by cooking some of their meals this week. My contribution is delivering the food when it's ready to go. Today I dropped off chicken (like very few people have ever tasted before), stuffing, mashed potatoes, a macaroni-and-cheese-like casserole, and various other delights.
Last night we found out that Gary (my uncle) went into the hospital because he was having a hard time breathing. Said it felt like Tommy (his son) was sitting on his chest. He's had problems like this before, but the doc was concerned and put him in the hospital overnight.
So... Corinne whipped up a meal for the Schlageters, too (Gary, Ellyn, Mandi, Katie), and I delivered it at the same time as the Pride's. Ellyn was home, and said I should stop in to see Gary. Yeesh... I'm tired of friends and family being in the hospital!
Surprise! Gary looked great, and would have been pacing the halls waiting for them to release him if not for the I.V. drip in his arm, delivering an anti-coagulant (they thought the breathing problem might have been due to a blood clot). He was wearing shorts and watching TV and looked totally healthy. In fact, his biggest complaint was that the doctor woke him up at 7:15 this morning, after an almost sleepless night. I hung out with him for fifteen or twenty minutes, and then left very much relieved. :-)
