Robot Exclusion Protocol

Oh man, this is hilarious. Cam linked to a story about Google-of-the-future, called "Robot Exclusion Protocol". It's brilliant. It perfectly matches the character of this year's Google: brilliant, childlike, innocent, and unbelievably persistent. I'm expecting to see a new Google applicance any day now, indexing my office.

What a riot. Cam's right, somebody needs to give that man a book contract.

So Many Toys...

This weekend I was looking for a tool on my hard drive, and I made the mistake of opening the /Developer/Applications folder in OSX.

I was lost in that folder for a couple of hours. Lost and happy. Now UserLand has released the source to a toy for calling Frontier from the command line. They're tempting me to dive back into that folder and play some more, but I just don't have time! I can be strong! Really!

The Many Faces of Google

Jim points to a page (originally from rc3.org) that lists all of the Winter Olympics Google logos.

You can find all of the cutesy holiday Google logos on one page, too.

Then Seth points to Jim pointing to a page of Google's Winter Olympics logos, and then points to a page that lists all of the Google holiday logos.

Seth then hits his stack's recursion limit and is forced to throw an error before going back to work.

Error: Stack overflow! If your thought process is recursive, make sure that itÂ’s terminating.

I need an upgrade.
