If you're the type of person who's always being picked on -- or even attacked (verbally) -- for the things you do and say in public...
I've finally succumbed to the pressure of the giant mob that's been demanding an RSS feed from TruerWords.
Hopefully somebody will find it useful!
(It's readable in your browser, too. Cool! Just click the link.)
Brian Andresen said something astute to me tonight.
Who would have guessed that shareware would become *the* software distribution model for the new millenium? :)
That is weird, but it's true. Any software with a free trial-period is essentially using the shareware model. Shareware also allows people to distribute the software on their own (thus the term "share"!), but I believe the more important part of the model is (now) the free trial period.
That's a change in how the world (or my part of it) works, brought about by the internet. Interesting observation.
Corinne and I were "hosting" mid-week Bible class tonight. That means she goes out and buys a bunch of ingredients, and I carry them into the house. Then she spends many hours on Tuesday and Wednesday preparing lots of food, and then I pack it into the car. Then we drive to the hall, and I carry it in, and she reheats everything and sets it up for everyone to eat after class. Afterwards, she cleans everything up and I carry what's left out to the truck.
I don't even deserve the title of host, seeing how little I did compared to her efforts, but that's not my point. Not only did she feed the entire ecclesia, but she also made dinner for Art and Sarah (coconut chicken) and the Smalls (not sure what they got).
One of John VanDyk's first observations when he came to our house a couple days ago was that our Dining Room wall has two large (almost ceiling-height) bookcases completely filled with cookbooks. This woman loves her cookbooks, just as much as she loves to cook.
Nurturing people, with food and whatever else she/we have to offer, is her special gift, and I'm very very proud of her.
You're a good girl, an amazing woman, Corinne.
