The Mozilla Project is finally preparing the first Release Candidate for Mozilla 1.0.
They've made huge strides in the last month, and I'm happy to say that they've introduced virtually no new features. Everything since 0.9.9 was started has been about fixing bugs and improving performance.
There's an official message about the upcoming release on the Mozilla news servers that explains their plan for RC1 and 1.0. I wish them luck... they've been fighting an uphill battle, but this is a great browser. If it takes off (which it's likely to do, if AOL really is going to include the browser with a future version of their software), we'll finally be back to a two-browser system. That means competition, and competition means the technology will finally start improving again.
