I have a number of reasons to be interested in XSLT (eXtensible Stylesheets Language / Transform) right now, not the least of which is that it's a cool technology that I don't know enough about.
Netscape's Evangelism site has a nice tutorial on XSLT. No heavy details, but enough to get me started.
For example, I didn't know until just last week that it's supported by most (all?) of the modern browsers. (It was around that same time that I created TruerWords RSS feed, which is displayable in the browser but which only uses CSS2, not XSLT.)
Actually, I didn't even know that it's a client-side technology. I should have (since it has "stylesheet" in the name), but for some reason I thought it was only server-side. Like I said, I knew very little about it.
I'm working on a customer project right now whose audience is all using the same browser, and that browser supports XSLT. This raises the possibility of using XSLT. If nothing else, it's a good excuse for me to learn more about it.

TruerWords
is Seth Dillingham's personal web site. More than the sum of my parts. |
