Rides #9 and #10

I did the same ride on both Wednesday and Thursday. About thirty miles each day.

It really bothers me that May is already 2/3 over and I've only ridden ten times this year. I really thought this season was going to be even better than last season, but instead work and weather have conspired to keep me chained to my desk.

With ten rides finally under my belt for the season, I shaved my mustache. I do this every couple years, and then let it start to grow back near the end of the season. I didn't tell Corinne I was going to do it, so when she came home from helping Shane at the restaurant, she was a little surprised. (Her reaction would have been more fun if she weren't so exhausted.)

I've lost about twelve pounds so far this year. I noticed the weight really starting to drop this past wek, which is a big relief.

Stats:
Wednesday: 29.23 miles in 1:37:23. Average speed: 18.01 mph.
Thursday: 30.2 miles in 1:48:08. Average speed: 16.76 mph.

(Thursday I rode late, I was tired, hungry, and it was windy for about forty five minutes. Good excuses, huh?)

Cycling is Good for My Frame of Mind

One good thing about the cyclist's high is that it gives me the ability to smile even when dealing with unpleasant, uncivil situations. (I'd offer a recent example, but it's not worth the effort.)

I wonder when the feds are going to outlaw endorphins as a dangerous, addicitve substance?
