I put the finishing touches on the new date formatting code for Conversant this morning, as well as a long page of documentation. A few people, most notably Steve Ivy, have made a really big deal of this new code.
I'm writing all of the documentation in a single outline, at this point, with a sort of lazy-man's approach to writing in DocBook. That is, I'm not putting in any closing tags... and in fact, I'm not putting in any tags at all for some parts. For example, when I'm writing a <variablelist> block, I don't bother putting <listitem></listitem> around every line within the block: a renderer can do that for me and it saves me a lot of typing (and mis-typing).
Still, the more I work with it the more I like DocBook. It's big -- really, really big -- but it's very flexible and that's exactly how I like my software. Nor does it hurt that DocBook was designed for doing exactly what I'm doing with it: writing software documentation.
