Flip, Jim, Greg, Steve, and Brent (update: and Apollo, Daniel, and Terry) have each linked to the story about the Firefox book. I really appreciate it... this is a very big deal for me, as most of you know.

Brent said that my description of the SOAP hack made him feel like "Unfrozen Caveman." If anybody has a clue stick, I need a beating. (Did it make him feel a bit behind the times? Out of touch with the tech? Really old? Maybe it thickened his brow and made him a good shot with a spear?)

Along with the new cycling season comes a new season of fundraising for the PMC.

For those who don't know what I'm talking about: the PMC is a huge effort to raise millions of dollars for cancer research and treatement at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Four thousand cyclists ride 192 miles across Massachusetts in two days. Last year we raised $20,000,000. My efforts contributed about $4,000 of that.

My goal this year is $6,000. So far, I've raised exactly $0.

Quite a few people have sponsored me both of my previous years, and have already told me they'll be doing so again. It's just as easy this year as it was last year: you can go straight to my e-Gifts page at the PMC to make a donation, or you can skim the page that describes how to sponsor me in the Pan-Mass Challenge.

Last year I mentioned that the revenue from the google ads displayed here on the site would go towards the fundraising. That will start on April 1, and last through the end of August. I'll be lucky to raise more than $200 that way. Please be fair to the advertisers... don't click ads that don't interest you. This will all be wasted if just one person over-does it and Google decides my site is generating "inappropriate clicks."

Another "something new" I'm trying this year is the Amazon Associates program. This is another way you can help that won't cost you a dime: if you were going to buy something from Amazon anyway, please consider doing it through a link from this site. All proceeds from the program will be donated to the PMC, starting now and lasting through September 30th.
